(WordPress)
WordPress web design you can actually edit yourself.
If you want to add pages, publish posts and change prices without calling anyone, WordPress is often the right choice. We build it properly: custom, lean and simple to use.

How we approach it.
WordPress has a reputation problem, and it is mostly earned by bad builds. A heavy theme, a page builder and twenty plugins later, the site is slow, the editor is confusing and every update feels like it might break something. Owners end up scared to touch their own website, which defeats the whole point of having a content management system.
As a WordPress developer in Manchester, we take a different approach. We design your site first, then build a custom theme that matches the design exactly, with only the plugins you genuinely need. The editor is set up around your content, so adding a team member, a new service or a blog post is a matter of filling in clear fields rather than wrestling with layouts. You get the freedom of WordPress without the bloat that usually comes with it.
(The service)
What's included.
- 01
Custom WordPress theme
A theme built from scratch to match your bespoke design. No multipurpose theme carrying features you will never use.
- 02
A tidy, simple editor
Custom fields and blocks set up around your content, so you can update pages confidently without breaking the layout.
- 03
Minimal, trusted plugins
We keep plugins to the essentials and choose well-maintained ones. Fewer plugins means fewer updates, fewer conflicts and better security.
- 04
SEO foundations
Clean URLs, editable titles and descriptions, schema markup and an XML sitemap, all configured before launch.
- 05
Migration from your old site
Moving from another platform or an old WordPress build? We bring your content across and redirect old addresses so you keep your rankings.
- 06
Training and a written guide
A walkthrough of the editor plus simple notes for everyday tasks, so you are not dependent on us for small changes.
(How it works)
From first call to results.
- 01
Content plan
We map out what you will want to edit, so the editor is built around how you actually work.

We design the site in full first, so WordPress serves the design rather than limiting it.
- 03

We code a lean theme and set up custom blocks and fields for your content types.
- 04
Content and migration
We load your content, move anything from the old site and set up redirects.
- 05
Train and launch
We show you the editor, put the site live and keep it updated through a care plan if you choose.
(Why Crown Creatives)
Why work with us.
We are not tied to WordPress
We also build hand-coded sites and online shops, so when we recommend WordPress it is because it suits you, not because it is all we know.
Built for the person editing it
We set up the editor for you and your team, not for developers. If something is confusing, we change it.
We look after it afterwards
WordPress needs regular updates and backups. Our care plans handle that, so the site stays secure without you thinking about it.

Websites we've built.
Is WordPress good for small business websites?
Yes, when it is built well. It is flexible, widely supported and easy to edit, which suits businesses that publish news, add services or update prices regularly. The problems people have with WordPress usually come from heavy themes and too many plugins, which we avoid.
Should I choose WordPress or a hand-coded website?
If you rarely change your content, a hand-coded site is faster and needs less maintenance. If you want to edit pages and publish posts yourself, WordPress is usually the better fit. We will talk through how you plan to use the site and recommend one honestly.
Do you use page builders like Elementor or Divi?
We prefer not to. Page builders add a lot of code, slow pages down and make layouts easy to break. We build custom blocks instead, which give you freedom to edit content while keeping the design consistent.
Can you take over or fix my existing WordPress site?
Often, yes. We start by reviewing the theme, plugins, hosting and security, then tell you plainly whether it is worth repairing or better to rebuild. Either way, you get a clear recommendation before any work is quoted.
Who keeps WordPress updated after launch?
You can, or we can. WordPress, plugins and themes all need regular updates to stay secure. Our website care plans cover updates, backups, security monitoring and UK hosting, so it is handled for you.
